There has been a lot of questions regarding where to short Ethereum. So, I thought I would share some wisdom since I know plenty of good exchanges. When shorting a cryptocurrency you generally want to look for a trading platform with low trading fees. The reason is that when you short-sell Ethereum for example, you need to trade on a platform with leverage.
This usually means that you are going to take bigger positions than you normally would. So, the bigger the position the bigger the fees.
You can see how it would be optimal to short cryptocurrencies on a platform with low trading fees.
I’ve gathered the best cryptocurrency exchanges I know where shorting Ethereum is possible and where the trading fees are very low.
Some of these exchanges offer higher leverage then others but I do recommend that you start slow because shorting crypto with leverage can be somewhat risky if you are new in the game.
In a minute you will see a comparison table of the best crypto trading platforms to short Ethereum but I suggest you go through the whole review before you pick your winner.
To make things very simple, I’ve included a step by step explanation on how to short-sell Ethereum for each exchange.
However, if you are in a hurry, check the comparison table below before you start trading.

There are two different trading interfaces on this platform, the Lite, and the Pro.
Lite is for beginner crypto traders and Pro is for more advanced and experienced traders.
I’ll show you a snap shot of both.

I really like this trading interface.
It’s perfect for beginner cryptocurrency traders.
To the right you have the Long and Short order selection.

You can also change the leverage on KuCoin as you are trading which is kind of cool.
There is also a ranking list in the middle.
If you make enough money shorting you might end up on this list.
The Pro trading interface is a little bit more advanced and it looks like this.
If you are not used to charts and all the functionalities this interface has you might get a little bit intimidated.

Short Ethereum on Prime XBT
Prime XBT is another custodial cryptocurrency exchange that offers high leverage trading on all coins on the platform.
Prime XBT has a very nice trading interface.
You can even trade four coins at the same time if you are very good at multitasking.
Something else that’s very special about is the trading fee.
Prime XBT has one of the lowest trading fees out of all crypto trading platforms I know.
The standard trading fee on Prime XBT is 0.05%.
That’s 50% lower than binance and 10 times lower than Coinbase.
I told you that the trading interface was nice so let’s take a look.
There is one option and it looks like this.
It has all the different indicators and drawing tools you might need.
You can use a Candle, Bar or Line chart, which ever you prefer.
The time frames go all the way from 1 month to 1 minute so it’s suited for both long term position traders and crypto scalpers.
Here is a snapshot of the four chart mode I was talking about.
I’ve highlited the Charts tab in the top left corner.
Here you can switch back to the normal chart if you want.
Another special feature with this trading interface is the “one-click trading” option.
You can either trade with Reular trading mode or One click trading mode.
The difference is the speed.
One-click trading is faster and will execute orders directly from the order book.
You can switch between the different modes here.
